Early Indications

 As part of the preparations for BarnHOTT, I taught my "wonderful partner" (her words!) how to play Hordes over the Bank Holiday weekend.  We played a couple of games to try out my existing HOTT armies and she won both!  I am counting them as partial victories because I was helping her of course (cough, cough).

 Last night, after the vast amount of mathematical analysis done (see previous post), we played again to try out the composition I had decided on.  My new army (maybe I should call it a "New Model Army"?) carved through her's without loss.  Maybe I am onto something?  We will see what Sunday brings.

What to take?

 I have just found the notes I took for the last BarnHOTT I went to in what looks to be early 2017 perhaps?  I took my Mythic Japanese Army and if I interpret the chicken scratching's correctly, I won two and lost two, so fairly middling.  I have not played Hordes since but I am on the list for this year's event in nine days time.  Ummmm, what army to take????

The Die is Cast

  Well, after some analysis (details to follow depending on the results!), I have decided on the composition of my army for BarnHOTT 2022 .  No spoilers as yet due to the perfidious intelligence gathering efforts of those who will be against me on Sunday - but if I do better than the last time I played (I came last!)  St George's Day Off to Alton, Hampshire for the "My Own Worst Enemy" DBA competition carrying my selected army of Book IV 83a, Wars of the Roses.  The theme, in honour of the day, was any Army that fought in England.   The army list was: Army number   IV/83a Wars of the Roses, 1455-1485AD  Terrain Arable  Aggression 1   Type Number    Gen,      4Bd 1 John Tiptoft, 1st Earl of Worcester  3CV      1    4Bd      4 4Lb      4    Art      1    3Ax (Irish)      1   Terrain list   Mandatory   Ploughed 2     Optional   River 1 Steep hill 2  The wise amongst you will note there was far too much difficult terrain!
